It's easy to throw a look together on the fly with a great leather jacket and boots like these! The quilted leather jacket was very generously gifted to me by Anine Bing. Thank you so much--it's a dream come true! Upon seeing her website, I had to order the studded boots for myself straight away. For obvious reasons...best boots in the world! And perfectly comfortable for scooting around in.
I'm also wearing Madewell skinny skinny jeans in Silversmith wash and a chiffon scarf from Club Monaco.

See that anime-eyed Maltese in the last picture? I met her on my walk--look at that face! I am so glad I had my camera. Her dad was very kind to oblige my photo request. I know I've been annoying everyone on Instagram with the onslaught of dog photos...but I am just so excited about my new baby! I took some adorable pictures of Melanie and Shelly and Kim yesterday, I can't wait to post them. Mel is doing great, and thank you to everyone for all the well wishes and welcomes!

If you've been following me on Instagram for the past 12 hours, you may have heard the story of sweet Melanie. My mom's neighbor found this little dog lost in the nearby park. Poor Melanie is in bad shape, and I have a strong suspicion she got dumped at the park, as many dogs do when their owners realize the cost of spaying and medication. She's in heat, had fleas and tapeworms, and her little body is just covered in scabs. I can't imagine what she has been through in the past 48 hours. She went to sleep in the closet as soon as she got here. She acts like she has never been inside the house before, but she's warmed up to the domestic life very quickly! Melanie cuddled up next to me like a baby last night, and she's plastered to my side now as I type this.

I have been preparing to welcome a dog into my life, but I hadn't found the dog just yet. Circumstances in my life have changed so that I can be a full time dog mom and I've been so excited! I've been on Petfinder for months now, but it looks like my dog found me! She has a precious personality. Maybe I'm being a little presumptuous calling her my own so soon, but considering the shape she's in, I'd hate to think of her going back to wherever she came from. I think this was fate!

Melanie looks like she is some kind of fox terrier/miniature pinscher/chihuahua mix. She is one year old.

Her resemblance to our chihuahua Kim is so funny! Mirror images! Kim has been a little jealous of her doppelganger since she got here, but not unwelcoming. She has been trying to play with Melanie, who is still a little on the shy side, but quickly coming out of her shell.

You'll be seeing lots more of Melanie! I just had to share this morning, I am so smitten! We'll have her fixed up and rid of her parasite friends and she'll be feeling much better very soon :) Well, I'm off to go buy dog panties...wait for pics, haha! Have a good weekend!

This picture brings back wonderful memories. This was at the Mandarin Oriental's beautiful restaurant Asiate, where my boyfriend and I were treated to the best food of our lives! The view from our corner table overlooking Central park was breathtaking. I'm so grateful to have had that experience-I'll never forget it!

I was given a tour of the Mandarin Oriental's presidential suite--just look at the bathroom! The suite dwarves my apartment and the view was something not to be believed.

We did some touristy things this time too--the Natural History Museum was so much fun!

Romeo the long haired Chihuahua was my favorite thing I saw in New York. His dad was so proud to show him off! Haha...so cute.

Above is my favorite snapshot I got in New York--poor babies are all tuckered out. I am too after a whirlwind trip! Here are some Instagrams from the trip, so happy to see so many friends!

We were so fortunate to be hosted by the Mandarin Oriental in New York. What a spectacular view we had!

We were treated to a chef's tasting at the beautiful Asiate restaraunt in the Mandarin Oriental. It was certainly the highlight of the trip, if not the highlight of my life ;) You cannot believe the food we had! I will post more pictures soon.

When I said these were my favorite jeans, I wasn't kidding. I wore them 5 days out of 6. The cap toe pumps are from Schutz! I also got my new favorite pair of shoes from Schutz. More cap-toe perfection below.

Suede black and white cap toe ankle boots! That's what I've been dreaming of. I'll post more of these and of the Schutz opening soon :)

With my beloved Aimee before the Schutz opening <3 ;)

I finally met the Beckerman Bite Plate sisters!! We have been Instagram friends for so long, I feel like I've known them forever! I love the Beckerman family!!

I jumped for joy when I saw these girls!! I wish I could do IRL with my internet friends all the time. Andy and Nicolette are the best.

One of the highlights of the trip was when I got to DJ the ASOS Rewardstyle party on Saturday night. Here I am with Leigh Lezark who DJed after me and Amber of Rewardstyle. So great to meet so many bloggers that night!! I will be posting a mix of what I played soon--keep your eyes peeled.

I seem to wear black mid-calf boots more than anything else in my closet, so when these mid-calf buckled Giuseppe Zanotti boots popped up on Yoox, I couldn't resist them. I've worn them every day since they got here. Mid-calf boots go with everything and are the most flattering shoe you can wear...how could I say no to these guys??

Wearing my favorite jeans, a Rugby tweed blazer, thrifted silk blouse, and my favorite men's belt from Lucky. Holding the ever-needy Kim ;)

Giuseppe Zanotti's boot game is out of control, he always does things that surprise me. Like the Barbarealla-esque ankle boots with the metal cuff below? Soo beautiful.

1. Giuseppe Zanotti for Thakoon grey harness ankle boots

2. Giuseppe Zanotti open toe metal ankle cuff bootie

3. Giuseppe Zanotti 'Sharon' booties

4. Giuseppe Zanotti ivory half boots

5. Giuseppe Zanotti crystal ankle boot
