I'm officially starting a tuxedo shirt collection. It all started when my mom picked up a red and white one on our roadtrip to Austin a few weeks back. It has an uncanny ability to look cute with just about anything you wear it with. We got inspired to buy more since they seemed to make styling outfits so easy. This one came in the mail yesterday. I like it with my turqoise brooch, even though it makes me look like an extra from the TV show Dallas.
I wish I'd gotten a close up picture of my belt, because it has skunks on it. Red and white skunks...how whimsical and bizarre.
Worn with my new Rich & Skinny Legacy jeans in black...my mom has the same pair and I got jealous of hers because they are so cute, so I got a pair for myself.

Worn with Givenchy lace-up heels from spring 2007? I can't remember. Loved the shoes from this colletion!

It's been a while since I've gotten this leopard Junya Watanabe dress out...I bought it about three years ago and usually I wear it as a top, but it can go both ways! I like it with all of my turqoise and silver.

Hello from New York! I made it in last night despite a five hour delay and a horrible cold. I'm here for something exciting but at the moment it just feels very, very intimidating. I'm trying to soothe my nerves in my hotel room by window shopping. I think it's helping.

These pictures make me laugh so much. My mom and I thought our 13 year old corgi Townsend would enjoy a quick walk, and normally, he does! This time proved to be too much for him...he was overcome with emotion and spent the whole time trying to climb in my lap. We took him home and turned around to go to try to take some more photos, but stopped to get two lost puppies out of the road. I practically rolled out of the car trying to get out of it before it stopped. Luckily the puppies had tags and it was easy to get them back to their home. A very doggy series of events.
Wearing a vintage Emanuel Ungaro blouse scored at a thriftstore, vintage hat, metallic wax jeans by Rich & Skinny (never thought I'd try a pair of jeans with that name, but I'm obsessed with them, cutest fit ever..love these too), and Laurence Dacade boots.

How pretty is the hair at Valentino's spring 2012 show? It's so pretty how they circle around the entire head so that you can't tell where they begin or end. Much nicer than when I've tried to milkmaid braids on my own hair!

Judging from the photo, the effect seems to be achieved by french braiding a circular chunk at the crown of your head, and a section starting above your right ear. This must require a lot of dexterity.

Dita Von Teese is a personal hero of mine...I admire her for designing every aspect of her lifestyle down to the very last detail...that level of commitment isn't just style, that's a statement. I love her closing quote on mediocrity. These are some images of Dita Von Teese's home in Hollywood that I scanned from the book Ellements of Style. Hope you enjoy, sorry the quality of the scans isn't better!

I am trying to soak up this gorgeous autumn while I can. Autumn sunlight is so nice. I am not looking forward to daylight savings time...what a shame, cheating us out of all this beautiful light!
I have been re-watching Mad Men and Betty Draper has inspired me to wear gloves more often. I got these beautiful vintage suede ones from Vintage Martini. I'll be on the hunt for some short white ones like Betty wears.
Wearing a vintage sweater from Laced with Romance vintage, a big wool indigo blanket scarf by MIH I borrowed from my mom, skinny cargo pants c/o Ralph Lauren's new Denim and Supply line, and Moma boots.
