So many great shoes this season!

August 28, 2009

When will it be winter already??

For no reason in particular I seem to have accumulated a lot of leopard print in my life as of late...and most of these pieces are much better suited for cold weather, and not the 100 degree heat we're experiencing in TX at the moment.

Particularly this one.

This is an Ivan Grundahl  faux leopard cocoon coat that my mom got at a sale at the If boutique in Soho. My mom and I are both big fans of Ivan Grundahl, so it was an exciting find, especially at something like 80% off..ridiculous!

I wasn't with her when she bought this coat, she had it shipped home. I had to try it on as soon as I saw it. The plushy fur is so soft, and the coat is reversible, so you can wear it on rainy days too!

Worn with Balenciaga ankle boots & a vintage Razza elephant necklace.

This is a leopard print skirt found at the Goodwill for 99 cents. The print is great and the length is perfect for my Miu Miu studded ankle boots.

Worn with a shearling bomber jacket by Richard Chai, an antique kimono sash that my mom got in Tokyo long ago, and of course, the Miu Miu ankle boots

I found this Junya Watanabe leopard dress/shirt at the If sale too...I was so happy, I had almost bought this top in Dallas a few months before, but here it was on sale 75% off!
If it weren't for the fact that it is made of wool it would be perfect for today's weather. Even though it was hot in New York I wore this outfit around town.I have to say that as much as I love this top, it's very impractical. My left arm was virtually imobilized in it. A fashion straight-jacket so to speak.
Worn with running pants, an LGB flannel, and Y-3 bag. Weird outfit, I know.

I guess winter isn't too far away...I'm just impaitient to wear some of these things!
Till next time...xo Jane

Hey everybody!
Whew, it's been an exhausting two weeks. Travelling will suck the life out of you. After a couple of days in LA, I went back to Texas, and less than 24 hours later I was in New York. I spent a very busy five days there but now I'm home again and after I regain my energy, I'll be back to blogging.

I didn't take too many pictures in New York, but one thing my mom and I took time to see was the NY Pet Fashion Week...too zany!! It was very small & showcased some amazing products for your dogs.

So many cute dogs, so many cute dog beds!

I love those life-like dog models...very eery.

I basically wore the same thing everyday that I was in NYC...

American Apparel one sleeve dress, mongolian lamb fur vest from Zara, a plaid shirt from LGB in Tokyo, and Ann Demeulemeester lace-up sandals. All of my other outfits were only slight variations on this, it sure made packing easy.

I've started a Twitter, if you want to follow me! I'm Sea_of_Shoes.

Once again I apologize for my absence...for now, I have some serious rest to catch up on. Haven't been feeling so hot since I got off the plane. I'll be posting again soon though!

I was invited by the beautiful Katie Nehra  to be in the fall lookbook for her clothing line Simone. I was super excited and the shoot was a lot of fun!

Here is Katie-wearing a sick leather mesh vest she designed!

Mirror pic behind the scenes ;)

Pretty shoes!!

I got my own personalized leather jacket-so cool right?
Thank you so much Katie for having me out, the shoot was a blast!

It's been nice spending time with my family in LA and I look forward to my upcoming trip to New York!

I'm sorry if I'm behind on correspondence-my email situation is absolutely out of control right now and I do not have enough time to respond to all of them. It's become very stressful but hopefully I'll have things sorted out soon. If you absolutely need to get in touch with me, please abel the email as urgent!
And to those who have friended me on Facebook, I am sorry that I am unable to accept your request, I found out that there is a limit on how many friends you can have on Facebook...haha.

I got the coolest package in the mail yesterday.

It was from one of my favorite bloggers, Eugenia Semjonova, the genius behind one of my favorite blogs out there, Doom.
Eugenia has, for very sound and understandable reasons, stopped blogging at Doom.
R.I.P. Doom, I'm gonna miss you a lot...you were so right about so many things.
At least you can haunt the Doom archives, living as a ghost in the Doomed world.

Eugenia has some awesome projects going on-she tells me she is currently on tour and has a children's CD out and an Italo-disco album in the works. Sounds like a blast and I can't wait to hear more!

The package itself was almost as exciting as its contents.

In the package were various adornments that Eugenia has handmade.

They all look like they possess some kind of magical power, right?

Eugenia also did this amazing picture of me!! Love it soo much!

Today I wore two of these special gifts, the spiked necklace & the flowered braid made of natural blond human hair.

Worn with a very old men's chambray shirt, Hysteric Glamour jeans, and my Martin Margiela sandal boots.

Thank you for your beautiful gifts Eugenia, and thank you for sharing the power of Doom. Best of luck in all of your ventures.

Good night all, I have to wake up early tomorrow-I'll be spending a few days in Los Angeles and New York over the next week and a half. I apologize if my posts become sporadic during this time, but I will try to keep you updated!

Random on Sunday morning

Earlier this week I was playing around with these Christopher Ross butterflies-they are actually belt buckles.
If you want to know more about C. Ross you should head over to my mom's blog, she's the Christopher Ross expert!

Shelley has been the best dog in the world lately-normally she is *very* naughty but lately she has been very cuddly and well-behaved. I guess she's just getting out of her puppy phase.

Ann Demeulemeester lace-ups-so comfy, I wear them like some people wear flip flops. Wearing them with some cobwebby tights from Forever 21.

Shelley & Staci & me chilling out on the day bed.

Shelley hops in my lap for a web-cam shot...

Shelley looks pissed that I'm not taking this picture seriousely...sorry Shelley.
I'm wearing a vintage Givenchy necklace my mom got on eBay-sooo incredible, it has since been polished and looks even better.

And since this post is already pretty random, here is a random assortment of my favorite things I made.

First row: 1. Harry Dean Stanton, current favorite actor. I love his face. 2. Perdita Durango, my alter ego &favorite Lynch character ever, appears briefly in Wild at Heart played by Issabella Rosselini. 3. A favorite picture of Kate Moss.
Second Row: 4. A favorite portrait by Egon Schiele 5. Vintage French Vogue-I wish their photographers & models were still around. 6. David Lynch 7. Serge Lutens Serge Noire, my favorite perfume.

My new obsession is this necklace by Assad Mounser-kindly sent to my mom and I by the designer Amanda! I am going to be fighting my mom for this one. I've already basically taken over it...sorry!

I like this necklace with my vintage Michael Morrison studded belt. It's good to go heavy on the bling sometimes.
I am hung up on my MM belts lately as you may have noticed-they're so cool.

Worn with a Junya Watanabe lace ruffle shirt, Joie satin skinny pants.

Wearing my Chloe Paddington boots-I love these guys. I noticed that they have kind of a swash-buckler feel when I paired them with the ruffley Junya Watanabe shirt.
