Today I am wearing a leather skirt (recently purchased from thrift store), an American Apparel tank top pinned to be worn as a one shouldered tank, a belt from my mom's old store, and Martin Margiela sandal booties.

Today my mom is wearing a vintage Flora Kung dress, Levi's jeans, her vintage lionhead belt, and Givenchy open toe boots

And to those who asked: the painting in the background is not a Clifford Still or a Franz Kline-it was a painting someone had tried to cover up but never finished. It was purchased from a junk store just as the owner was about to throw it out!

ANIMAL BELTS//a zoo around your waist

My mom and I have both been obsessing over 80's animal belts for the past year. The elephant belt was the first belt in the collection and the gigantic lion head is the latest addition. My mom is very skillful at pulling up obscure and demented animal belts on eBay. I love how stupid the glass eyes on the lion head belt look-it's sort of sweet. He has a 'Mona Lisa' like quality to him. His eyes follow you everywhere.

My mom and look forward to styling some outfits with these belts soon!

TEXAS STYLE//theodore kessel

I rarely remember to bring my camera with me when I go out-but I was glad that I did, because today I met Ted Kessel. He is a film maker from Texas but has been traveling the world for a long time. I believe his film company is Source Antes productions. In total he was wearing three watches.

What incredible style-I was so glad I could take his picture-thanks, Ted!

 

SUNDAY AFTERNOON//sushi outing

We are having the most amazing weather lately here in Dallas-the sunlight was so pretty when I went out to lunch/shop with my mom and my sister Carol that I had to bring my camera.

We shared a heaping plate of vegetarian sushi at Reikyu in Mockingbird Station. I am still stuffed-it was so tasty.

Carol wears a BCBG jacket with Madewell boots-my mom wears her Givenchy booties with Current & Elliot jeans, and other things too various to elaborate on.
